Hezbollah Lives On

One more feckless U.N. resolution and unfortunately the U.S. played along to keep the terrorist organization Hezbollah alive and still functioning. It's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, is touting victory while he reluctantly "agrees" to a cease-fire. xxx Who does this resolution protect? Israel is a member of the U.N. Hezbollah is not. Lebanon is a member of the U.N. and has members of Hezbollah in its government. The conflict was between Israel and Hezbollah with Lebanon suffering the consequences, it's so-called Army nowhere to be found. xxx On some occasions Lebanon Prime Minister Fouad Siniora issued threats to use the Lebanese forces to support Hezbollah against Israel. Siniora show his face when he wasn't crying opening in public. xxx Nasrallah runs Lebanon and the U.N. included a terrorist, non-member in it's resolution, not by name, but by implication. The U.N. voted to stop fighting which should have ultimately crushed Hezbollah. The status quo will return and Hezbollah will be allowed to re-group, re-arm and attack Israel once again. Not today, tomorrow or next week, but it will happen. xxx Unfortunately, Israel mismanaged an opportunity for military success with it's inept handling of the crisis. Prime Minister Olmert demonstrated weakness and indecision provided the opening Hezbollah needed to dodge complete annihilation.
Hezbollah puppet masters, Syria and Iran, have suffered no consequences and will continue sponsoring terrorism and the rebuilding of Hezbollah forces who will intimidate the combination of Lebanese, U.N. and French forces called upon to control and "disarm" Hezbollah.
The new U.N. resolution never mentions Hezbollah nor does it call for it's disarming. In the end, terrorists can claim victory and they can thank the "infidels" for this gift.

It's the war in Iraq and terrorism competing if you believe the Dem's that one is not a part of the other.
