Is Bush's Brain at Work? UPDATED!!

President Bush's latest communications offensive on Iraq appears to be yielding small initial dividends, increasing Republican and independent support as the mid-term election campaign enters its homestretch.
xxx A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that Mr. Bush's overall approval rating, as well as his rating on handling Iraq, rose modestly after a series of speeches imploring Americans to remain patient despite repeated setbacks in the war.

It remains "a modest uptick" in "a very difficult national environment" for the president's party in mid-term elections, cautions Republican pollster Bill McInturff. The president's approval rating remains weak at 42%, though improved from 38% in June.

Rasmussen poll states forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. Those are by far the best numbers for the President since mid-February.

The poll shows a 4% increase since June. June was a long time ago, and all changes since then can not be attributed to 911, or recent speeches.

Also, the poll has a margin of error of 3.1, so any real gain in the polls could be a small as less than 1%. This is an example of a journalist misreading a poll, and making dramatic claims about non-data.

People WANT social security to be there when they retire, people WANT immigration laws, border security, WANT medicare reforms so they will pay less.....WANT, WANT, WANT...

Why do we want all that if we are not going to be able to enjoy it if we are attacked again?
The first thing that needs to be in our minds is: War, send more troops, support our troops, whatever it takes....
That's What Matter Most.
Defend those freedom we all WANT!

We were first attacked, we ought to fight it until death.
More people died on 9/11/06, more people die each day in car accidents in this country and we just go on with our lives...so, 2500 people has died in Iraq is actually a very small number if we consider what they are facing each day.
Let's be proud....let's support our president, our goverment and all the institutions that are making this country safer for all of us civilians of this country.

I have a 5 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. I fear if do not fight and win this war now, my children will have to do it. Shame on us if we allow this to happen, and God Bless and protect the troops who are doing our bidding now. I support the Presidents policy on the war, and only wish we could get more aggressive. Free people reject terrorism.
