It's The Economy Stupid!

Recent poll show that the economy along with the situation in Iraq and terrorism are the top issues voters will consider in the upcoming midterm election.
When it comes to the economy it seems American's judge the economic temperature by the cost to fill up their SUV or overblown-supersized pickup truck. However, gas prices are falling and in my area they are falling considerably, to $2.39 (regular lead-free) as of late last night.
U.S. jobs grew last month consistent with Wall Street expectations, and jobs growth in the previous two months were revised higher. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell slightly last month. Average hourly earnings rose $0.02, or 0.1%, to $16.79. That was up 3.9% from a year earlier.
Bottom line: Economic reports suggest the U.S. jobs market and economy remain vital, stable and strong. Many economists and politicians can spin the numbers any way they like, the fact being the economy has performed well over much of the Bush term in office.
