Ms. Smith Goes to Washington!

With an oil fortune on the line, former stripper Anna Nicole Smith encountered a sympathetic audience at the Supreme Court. Several justices said they were concerned that the one-time Playboy Playmate was kept from pursuing a piece of her late husband's fortune. xxx "It's quite a story," said Justice Stephen Breyer. xxx Smith married oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 when he was 89 and she was a 26-year-old topless dancer in Texas. Marshall died the following year. His fortune has been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion.
xxx
One of his two sons claims he is the only heir. Breyer said there was evidence that the son hired private detectives to keep Smith away from her elderly husband's bedside.
xxx
Smith's claim is simple, said Justice David Souter, "just give me the money I would have had."
xxx
Justices repeatedly referred to the amount of money at stake, and criticized arguments that only a Texas court had jurisdiction to settle the nasty family feud.
xxx
"That's just not the way our system works," said Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the only woman justice. xxx Marshall showered Smith with $6.6 million in gifts that included two homes, $2.8 million in jewelry and $700,000 in clothes, and she contends that he also promised her half his estate.
xxx
Pierce Marshall said various wills and trusts his father prepared over the years made him the only heir. A federal court ruled in 2002 that Smith was entitled to compensatory and punitive damages because Pierce Marshall altered, destroyed and falsified documents to try to keep her from receiving money from his father's estate. He denies any wrongdoing, and that decision was thrown out.
xxx
The case is Marshall v. Marshall, 04-1544.

CBS..Point Shaving Their Poll

CBS headline for it's latest poll on President Bush claims, George W. Bush now receives the lowest marks of his Presidency, even on fighting terrorism, a measure that has long been his strongest suit. Half of Americans now disapprove of how he is handling that effort, while 43% approve.
xxxx
OOPS! A little statistical analysis demonstrates this poll if off the hinges:
  • Total Republicans contacted: 272 unweighted and 289 weighted.
  • Total Democrats contacted: 409 unweighted and 381 weighted.
  • Total Independents contacted: 337 unweighted and 348 weighted.

A large majority of Republicans still approves of the President’s handling of terrorism, although their approval, like that of all adults, has dropped nine points in the last month, to 78% now. Most Democrats and Independents disapprove.

Well you don't say? Let's do our own analysis.

  • 2,036 individuals were polled
  • 38.8 % were Democrats
  • 33.6% were Independents
  • 27.6% were Republicans

Depending on how the questions were asked it seems the CBS "weighted" this poll to satisfy Bob Schiefer and his cohorts who wish to report bias news by "fixing" the numbers and placing their own spin on the results.

All In The Family....California Style

Rob Reiner, also known as "Meathead" in the TV sitcom "All In The Family" is now playing Robin Hood with taxpayer money in California. Joining him are many of his Hollywood pals. Reiner's character was a left-wing nut, anti-war, anti-capitalist buffoon as Archie Bunker's son-in-law. Unfortunately for California small business Reiner has extended his character into real life scenarios with the "Reiner Initiative."
xxx
Reiner is clueless when it comes to understanding economics. He feels raising taxes will help with pre-school funding but fails to see a reduction in small business re-investment dollars will hurt employment and reduce economic growth. Running a small business requires wearing many hats to succeed but Reiner sees the world through rose colored glasses and a water pipe.
xxx
According to CalTax, "The natural growth in California personal income tax revenue that is produced when the California economy grows is substantially greater than any politically viable tax increase that could be enacted. California personal income tax revenue can increase dramatically when public policy changes encourage increased California investment and job growth, particularly job growth in industries with high wage levels."
xxx
Small business is leaving California for the following reasons.
  • The 1991 California personal income tax rate increase was projected to produce more than $2 billion in additional revenue from this source. The revenue did not materialize. Revenue from the personal income tax was virtually flat until the temporary tax increase expired. Then revenue from the personal income tax grew 80% in six years.
  • A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, analyzing 1993 federal tax increases on upper-income taxpayers, found a similar result. Two new brackets for those with incomes over $140,000 produced less than half the revenue anticipated in the static analysis.
  • The Reiner Initiative, like Proposition 63 of 2004 (the tax on millionaires to fund mental health) is an unfriendly gesture to high-income Californians. Voters are being asked to target someone else to pay for social programs.
  • Small businesses are the backbone of the California economy. Yet increasing top income tax rates would raise income tax liabilities for some small, profitable unincorporated businesses paying personal income taxes.

California continues to account for about one-sixth of the overall U.S. economy, and its competitive decline will inevitably hurt everyone. Hollywood's liberals will discover again that a state with fewer businesses creates fewer jobs and collects fewer taxes.

Also keep in mind, the Hollywood Left unequivocally supports Hillary Clinton. Combine the two and we have an epic economic disaster in the making.

Enron's Ken Lay Had A Great Fall

Humpty dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty dumpty had a great fall
All the King's horses And all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again
xxxx
Former Enron Chairman and CEO Ken Lay has seen his personal fortune eaten away by the collapse of the energy trader and his legal problems, and he could be forced to file for bankruptcy protection, according to a published report. The New York Times reported that Lay's stated net worth is now less than $650,000, down from as much as $400 million before Enron's downfall in 2001. And the Times said that latest valuation is probably on the optimistic side. It includes an estimated $1.9 million held in a trust that the paper reports is almost sure to be consumed by legal fees. Outside of that trust, his current holdings include an estimated $4.2 million in real estate and $220,000 in other liquid assets. His retirement benefits, once worth $68 million, have fallen to $3.5 million, according to the report. The paper reports he has spent $20 million of Enron insurance proceeds for his defense, along with $5 million of his own money. He also has $4 million in unpaid legal fees and could see his total legal costs reach $30 million, according to the paper. The Times reports that Lay, 63, could be forced to forfeit his remaining home, along with some other assets, if he is convicted in the criminal fraud trial. And he also faces potential liability from lawsuits that were filed against him by shareholders and others after Enron's collapse. Lay still lives in a full-floor apartment in the Houston's affluent River Oaks neighborhood. But he cannot sell that dwelling because it is subject to forfeiture in the criminal case, according to the report.

Loose Lips Sink Big Ships

The Bush administration has backed the decision of a 12-agency committee to approve the deal with DP World of the United Arab Emirates. Denying the contract to a Middle East firm, Mr. Bush said last week, would send the wrong signal to the region. He also said that the United Arab Emirates is a good ally and staunch partner against terrorism.
xxx
U. S. Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) said President Bush is making a big mistake backing a sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates. The former Republican majority leader said the administration's approval of the deal is "pretty outrageous." DeLay said Congress would overturn the deal. "When it's a matter of national security, the president will be overturned," DeLay said in an account that appeared on the Web site of the Austin American-Statesman. "We will overturn it within the next few weeks."
xxx
U.S. Rep. Ted Poe, (R-TX), said he is concerned about Texas ports where military cargo is handled by London-based Peninsular and Oriental, the company to be purchased by the UAE's Dubai Ports World. Poe said ports in Beaumont and Corpus Christi move military goods, materials and records of which he would not want UAE employees to have access. "We would be bringing trouble upon ourselves," Poe said. "I've heard the UAE is our friend on the war on terror, despite the past, but they may not be our friend tomorrow. They would have access to every manifest regarding shipping, all cargo going out, what's on it, where it's going and all incoming shipping coming back to the port."
xxx
Where politician should show concern they should keep their comments out of the headlines. Liberally Conservative would hope politicians like Tom Delay would go away. Delay is a political hack, he comes off like a small time mob boss and should keep quiet on issues he has little say. Claiming a business deal with national implications will be overturned is ridiculous. If Delay wants political points he should clean up his problems and not provide fodder for the left.
xxx
The Dubai port sale of operations has been vetted through normal channels, politicians like Tom Delay are more of a concern when it comes to diplomacy and security. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wants more power no matter what it takes and he's not alone. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are more interested in their political future and gaining more power over the Executive branch of government then protecting America.
xxx
Congressman Peter King (R-NY), who sounded the alarm two weeks ago over the Bush administration's decision to permit the sale of several dozen U.S. port terminals to a Dubai company, blamed conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for softening the firestorm of opposition to the deal. King is blaming a talk show host and failing to take responsibility for telegraphing his distaste for an Arab ally.
xxxx
Politicians are doing a better job at destroying business partners and allies against terror then practicing caution at using the media to conduct self-serving propaganda.

Liberal Rhetoric on Iraq A Losing Proposition

Attempting to score political points liberals manage to "support the troops" and demean their presence in Iraq. Liberals are soft on terror, no matter how they feel about port security, and weak-kneed when it comes to defending the American homeland.
xxx
John Murtha (D-PA.) and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA.), have demanded timetables for the rapid withdrawal of American forces from Iraq, arguing that the Bush administration would keep U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely. The idea behind these demands is that only external pressure will force the administration to hand Iraq over to the Iraqis and to withdraw American soldiers. Murtha claimed that his pressure had changed administration policy in this regard, by driving the Pentagon to announce plans for rapid cuts in troop strength in Iraq. We hate to burst Mr. Murtha's bubble but his rhetoric doesn't set policy for the Pentagon, it only makes him look inept and foolish by making such claims.
xxx
Neither Murtha or Pelosi have any military expertise. Murtha is a Vietnam Veteran and served in the reserves for years, this does not qualify him to assert qualifications on warfare. Pelosi is nothing more than a left-wing ideologue who prefers to slander the military, while pretending to know something about military strategy.
xxx
Politicians never miss an opportunity to expound that the war in Iraq is a diversion from the war on terror. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi trained soldiers under the aegis of the Taliban alongside al Qaeda fighters and then moved into Iraq before the U.S. attack. Al Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, has repeatedly said that he now sees Iraq as the central front in the struggle with the West.
xxx
When liberals insist the war in Iraq is meaningless they only play into the hands of al Qaeda and weaken American military presence in Iraq. U.S. politicians on the left become players on the side of terrorism and embolden the terrorists into more suicide bombings, and killing coalition forces.
xxx
Democracies aren't grown quickly like a potted plant in a greenhouse. Promising a country liberation with a "cut and run" option won't solidify a developing government democratically established and won't embolden its citizens to accept less. When politicians discuss impeaching a President without material fact, they should stop using false statements and politcal rhetoric to impeach our soldiers on the ground and our military leaders.

Moon Bat of The Week Award!

Harvard University
and
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences
xxx
Harvard President, Lawrence Summers resigned his post at the country's oldest institution of higher learning. Pressure from the campus left in the faculty and Harvard Corporation has forced his hand and proclaims an educational body of high regard stooping to ideology and rendering objectivity in learning moot.
xxx
Summers showed a willingness to confront political anti-Semitism on campus where signers of a petition to get the university to divest from Israel. Mr. Summers came under attack for remarks on gender differences in the sciences looking for intelligent discussion, not howling at the moon by the academics.
xxx
President Summers showed his understanding of the role of Harvard in wartime, with his appearance at a commissioning ceremony for the Reserve Officers Training Corps program that was kicked off Harvard's campus in the era of protest against the war in Vietnam.
xxx
Each time Summers spoke out on issues he was challenged by campus interest groups and faculty as too "conservative." Protests of liberal ideals were challenged at many levels. The student newspaper, Harvard Crimson, has editorialized in support of Summers.
xxx
Liberal takeover on campus today continues to rear it's ugly head when they feel challenged. Alan Dershowitz proclaims it an "academic coup d'état by . . . the die-hard left of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences." We agree the left has been allowed to gain too much power when the academic tail wags the leadership dog.

Freiheit der Rede verlor in Deutschland

Translated: Freedom of speech lost in Germany. And so it must be, along with other forms of expression less we be further intimidated by Islam. xxx

A German court on Thursday convicted a businessman of insulting Islam by printing the word "Koran" on toilet paper and offering it to mosques. xxx The 61-year-old man, identified only as Manfred van H., was given a one-year jail sentence, suspended for five years, and ordered to complete 300 hours of community service, a district court in the western German town of Luedinghausen ruled. xxx Prosecutors said that in an accompanying letter Manfred van H. called Islam's holy book a "cookbook for terrorists." He also offered his toilet paper for sale on the Internet at a price of 4 euros ($4.76) per roll, saying the proceeds would go toward a "memorial to all the victims of Islamic terrorism." xxx The maximum sentence for insulting religious beliefs under the German criminal code is three years in prison. Was this really about religious beliefs or political correctness? Germany should enforce it's laws on terrorism and not suppress speech, distasteful or not.

Port of Call...Sinking Diplomacy and Free Markets

The White House gets blind sided by the of operations of U. S. ports by a foreign entity as it slowly comes clean to being ignorant of details. OOPS! Then we have Republicans waving the flag of dissent without all the facts in hand. Holding photo-ops and quick news sessions, jumping on board with the blustering Liberals the likes of Hillary and Chuck. More frightening is Jimmy Carter has given his useless stamp of approval for the business deal. That alone will give one time to pause.
xxx
It seems the natural vetting system was in place but the congress, ever seeking more power, was left out of the loop. Placing blame is what politicians do best, observing facts doesn't count for much. Let's take a look see.
  • Politicians are using the "race card". Sen. Patrick Leahy exclaimed, "Democratic and Republican lawmakers alike are rightly concerned about the Bush administration's decision to allow an Arab country with previous ties to terrorism to take over the operation of six U.S. shipping ports." If there are concerns please address them with hearings not on television for political points by single out a company for its geographics. The country of Dubai has an ownership interest in Dubai World Ports, which has business dealings around the world. It has yet to be said how running operations of U.S. ports effects homeland security. No facts are being presented to contest the vetting process that has been completed and received support from the Pentagon and Joint Chiefs of Staff.
  • A fact being overlooked is many U.S. ports currently are operated by foreign entities. The port of Los Angeles has terminals run by companies from Taiwan, Denmark, Singapore and even China. Using the "Arab" issue is for political points while ignoring sound economic and security reasoning. An Arab business entity does not always equate with links to terrorism. By discussing the issue spontaneously diplomacy in the Middle East is being dismantled.
  • Sending up the "security flag" as an issue only produces isolationism, skips free markets and telegraphs the message it's a bad bet to invest in America. Last year Chinese attempts to purchase oil giant Unocal were blocked while China began selling portions of its primary state-owned banks to American companies Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. Foreign companies will retaliate by making it more difficult and costly for U.S. companies to operate within their borders. This will hurt the American consumer directly in the pocket book.
  • DP World agreed to accept mandatory security screening at port facilities in Dubai and to embrace tighter security practices along the "supply chain" operated by London-based Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. U.S. officials also will have access to company records -- without subpoena -- and background information on DP World employees and managers working in the U.S. The assurances lock in requirements that had previously been only voluntary commitments on the part of DP World and P&O.
  • Dubai has become a member of the coalition against terrorism by capturing assests of terrorist organizations and providing military assistance in Iraq. The same can't be said of France and Germany, so-called allies.

The real national security question is not who operates the ports, but how to ensure that they are safe and secure. This week the FBI has arrested alleged terrorists operationg in Toledo, Ohio far from the eastern seaboard. The 9/11 terrorists trained in the U.S. Other terrorists have gained citizenship while working on terrorist plots within our homeland. Only 5% of port containers are currently inspected. Addressing this problem has never gained much political steam but using race in politics is a grander scheme. Do we want free markets, capitalizatiion and security or isolating ourselves from the world?

Turning Blue.....Or Not?

The Conservative mantra of small government, low-taxes, states rights, property rights have gone by the wayside for fat cats who professed allegiance to conservative issues. The Tom Delay's of the party brought their small town "buddy system" politics to the big show in the beltway, which only grew as their power grew.
xxx
Instead of following a simple play book the so-called conservatives paid off their debts to lobbyists at the expense of the national taxpayer with huge deficit spending and economic blunders. The only thing that saved their bacon (not ours) was the Bush tax cuts and monetary practices at the Federal Reserve.
xxx
Today's politician skips principle for election year politics as usual, not cutting back on pork but earmarking every entitlement in sight to save their political hide.
xxx
Virginia is a fine example of what may happen on the national stage if things don't change and change fast. As Virginia GOP state senator Ken Cuccinelli explained, "We ran on a message of almost being for tax cuts, almost for smaller government, almost for protecting Second Amendment rights, and almost being pro-life. As a result, the voters almost came out and voted for us." Virginia, traditionally a red state has gone tax and entitlement crazy.
xxxx
Unfortunately political climate can change as fast as a nice day on Lake Michigan. A political storm is on the horizon, Liberals bluster over everything and they don't have a plan, except to take over the Senate and House. Conservative constituents shouldn't pay for elected officials like Delay who effect the national scene while they practice "good old boy" politics in D.C. As soon as they believe they are smarter than us, we lose and lose big. Give an inch, Liberals will grab the whole cash register.
xxx
Any political party is only as good as the sum of its parts. The red ship only floats if all the crew is on board. If we think bloated government is part of the neo-conservative governance then imagine what will happen when the "New Deal" Liberals regain power. We will all be riding the "Blue Titanic."
xxx
It's time to revisit the "Contract with America" and retain a majority position in the legislature and White House. If not, we will all turn blue in our grave.

Partial Birth or Late Term Abortion...A Play on Words

Some groups call abortions in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy "partial birth" (pro-life) or "late term" (pro-abortion).
xxx
This procedure is used to abort women who are 20 to 32 weeks pregnant -- or even later into pregnancy. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist reaches into the uterus, grabs the unborn baby’s leg with forceps, and pulls the baby into the birth canal, except for the head, which is deliberately kept just inside the womb. At this point in a partial-birth abortion, the baby is alive. Then the abortionist jams scissors into the back of the baby’s skull and spreads the tips of the scissors apart to enlarge the wound. After removing the scissors, a suction catheter is inserted into the skull and the baby’s brains are sucked out. The collapsed head is then removed from the uterus. (Illustrations)
xxx
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a challenge to lower court rulings tossing out a 2003 federal law that banned partial birth abortion. In Gonzales v. Carhart the court will decide whether opposition to even minor state regulation of abortion is constitutional.
xxx
We become conflicted when the government regulates states as well as the inner workings of peoples lives. However, the procedure described above is all too gruesome and we concur with the reponses of the National Right to Life organization to the lame arguments of the pro-choice groups.
xxx
Claim: 'It's not a baby/person - it's just a blob of tissue'
xxx
Response: When a woman is pregnant, science tells us that the new life she carries is a complete and fully new human being from the moment of fertilization. By the time most abortions can be performed, the baby already has a beating heart and identifiable brain waves. The baby living in her mother is as distinct and unique a new person/human being as you are from me, and as deserving of protection under the law as we are. The baby every mother carries as she faces a life and death decision has a beating heart at 18 days after fertilization and brain waves as early as six weeks after fertilization. Most abortions are not performed until nine weeks of the pregnancy. Even RU 486 chemical abortions can't be done until after six weeks.
xxxx
Claim: 'It's my body/ a women's choice'
xxx
Response: Every mother is faced with profound decisions to make for herself and her child but these decisions can never include the right to kill her baby. Mothers facing difficult pregnancies require accurate and compassionate information about the facts of fetal development as well as the practical help that is available to them through the more than 3,000 mother helping centers around the USA. Mothers have a right to be fully informed about the facts at least 24 hours before making this life or death decision for themselves and their child.
xxx
Claim: 'What will we do with all the unwanted kids?' (Poor babies, overpopulation, abuse, etc.)
xxx
Response: We will never end poverty in our world simply by killing poor children. The poor mother who is encouraged to have an abortion today is just as poor tomorrow. Ignoring their existence in a woman’s life does not cure problems such as lack of job security, education, or abuse and turning to abortion as a way to make it all "go away."
xxx
The problem is lack of development -- not population. What women of the world desire is good basic health care for themselves and their families. In those countries where abortion is not legal, it is often because of strong cultural and religious beliefs that respect each new life. That respect needs to be backed up with wiser development plans not more dangerous and deadly abortion activity. In countries where there is not even the guarantee of clean running water, abortion will only become a death sentence for third world women and their babies.
xxxx
Claim: 'If abortion is made illegal women will die in back alleys'
xxx
Response: The numbers often used by pro-abortionists to back their claims are vast fabrications mostly made up by the pro-abortion lobby as admitted by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, founder of NARAL. The real numbers of deaths before 1973 are shockingly different. Thirty-nine women died of illegal abortions in 1972, the year before Roe v Wade. Those are thirty-nine tragedies along with their thirty-nine children who also died because of abortion's violence.
xxx
The true reason the deaths have decreased from abortion isn't legalization; it was the widespread introduction of antibiotics into medicine that saved the lives of women who would have otherwise died of botched abortions. In fact, the main forms of abortions have changed very little since the middle of this century! The only thing that legalizing abortion did was to give abortionists the right to hang their shingle on the front door and stop using the back alley!
xxx Mothers deserve better answers than the death of their children through the violence of abortion, legal or illegal. Help us support the work of the more than 3,000 mother helping centers committed to providing real life affirming options for these women and their families.
xxx
Claim: 'What about a woman who's been raped/incest or carrying a disabled/sick child? (The hard cases)'
xxx
Response: We don't cure illness by killing the patient. Aborting a child with a disability or illness is the height of prejudice. When a family learns that the child they are expecting may have a special need, that family needs support and good solid medical information -- not the death of their most fragile member. Society must flee this attitude that uses arbitrary yardsticks to measure peoples worth.
xxx
When a woman has been raped or a victim of incest, she has been the victim of a terrifying act of violence of which she is a true victim. Tragically, we are some times faced with a second victim of this great crime committed by the rapist, a baby. While pregnancy is extremely rare from rape, it can happen. The cruelest thing that can happen to the women in question is to now be pitted against her child, who is the second victim. In several studies done across America, women who were encouraged to use abortion in such circumstances felt that they had been put through a second act of violence, the violence and pain of the mechanical rape of abortion. Worse than that, they stated feelings of being made into the victimizer of their own child. they felt that their baby had paid with his/her life for the crime of the rapist.
xxx Meanwhile, mothers who found support to carry their children to term, whether they opted for adoption or kept their babies, felt that they'd turned something horrible into something life giving. The key here is support for both victims, mother and child.
xxx
We hope the United States Supreme Court will ensure the states are consistent on in applying the law by not permitting partial birth abortion. Ending a life is murder not a choice. Individuals should take responsibibity for their sexual activities by abstaining or practice birth control.
xxx
Father's and Parents rights should be considered. It takes two to produce life and minors should be required to consult the parents when becoming pregnant. The father should know about the pregnancy, become involved and be responsible as well.
xxx
Commerce clauses and privacy should not trump life, morality and responsible decision making. Laws aren't made to "get off the hook" but to ensure safety, life and being responsible citizens.

Buckeye Terror Plot...Holy War - Holy Toledo

Three naturalized U.S. citizens will be indicted in Ohio Tuesday for their role in assisting terrorism on U.S. targets overseas, specifically American military personnel in Iraq, FOX News has confirmed. The indictment, which was unsealed Monday, said the men plotted to kill U.S. and coalition military personnel in Iraq and other countries. On at least two separate occasions, among other charges, at least one of the men verbally threatened to kill or inflict bodily harm on President Bush, the indictment says. The three men all lived in Toledo within the last year and were arrested over the weekend. The suspects recruited others to train for a violent holy war against the United States and its allies in Iraq. The group traveled together to a shooting range to practice shooting guns and studied how to make explosives. The three are believed to be naturalized U.S. citizens from a Middle Eastern country.
xxx
UPDATE!
XXX
The men named in the indictment are: Mohammad Zaki Amawi, who was a citizen of Jordan and the United States who lived in Toledo until August 2005; Marwan Othman El-Hindi, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Amman, Jordan who lives in Toledo; and Wassim Mazloum, a legal U.S. resident who operated a car business with his brother in Toledo after entering the United States from Lebanon. The charges outlined in the five-count indictment include: conspiracy to kill, kidnap, maim, or injure people outside of the United States; conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, distributing information regarding explosives and making threats against the president of the United States.
XXX
The indictment accuses Mazloum of offering to use his car dealership as a cover for traveling to and from Iraq so that he could learn how to build small explosives using household materials.
XXX
One interesting aspect of the case is that officials seem to have intercepted e-mail communications from the suspects to their jihadist brethren in the Middle East. The indictment shows the nature of the e-mails, including a concern the men needed to use code words to conceal what they were talking about.

Monster Pussy in China

A 33-pound cat in Qingdao, China, is being described as a "feline monster" because of its 31-inch waist and large size, according to a report. The 9-year-old cat from the Shandong Province is so heavy it needs the help of its owner to get onto a bed. However, the cat is in surprisingly good health despite its weight. The cat's owner said it has no interest in eating fish but prefers to eat six pounds of chicken and pork each day. Source: Internet Broadcasting Systems and Local6.com

"Brokeback" Media

Both TIME and NEWSWEEK are planning high impact covers of Vice-President Dick Cheney for newsstands, with each magazine rolling out top staff bylines and thousands of words on the hunting incident. On CNN's Reliable Sources, Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank fretted that the White House is exploiting the public's growing disdain for the mainstream media. "Of course they succeed,” Milbank said of Bush aides. “The press always looks awful. They will once again make us look awful.” CNN's Candy Crowley added: "The perception is that we're whining." White House correspondent Bill Plante of CBS agreed. "The vice president and the White House have both used the constant press coverage of this story as a wedge,” he told Reliable Sources host Howard Kurtz. “It plays to the prejudices of the people who are predisposed not to like us, and it's one way to distract attention from what happened.”
xxx
Main Steam Media is blaming the White House because the public has a poor impression of the the press. David Gregory got spanked by his wife as told on Meet The Press. “I think I made a mistake. I think it was inappropriate for me to lose my cool with the press secretary representing the president. I don’t think it was professional of me. I was frustrated, I said what I said, but I think that you should never speak that way, as my wife reminded me, number one. And number two, I think it created a diversion from some of the serious questions in the story, so I regret that. I was wrong, and I apologize.” So Gregory apologizes but his colleagues do, indeed, whine. Gregory's wife saw something he failed to understand.

Dana Milbank of the Washington Post appeared on Countdown With Keith Olbermann on MSNBC (Monday, February 13, 2006), for an interview wearing a bright-orange hunter's vest and hat. In fact, in later came out the outfit wasn't a real hunting outfit but clothing commonly worn by road and construction workers.
xxx
Washington Post Ombudsman Deborah Howell expressed official dismay at Post reporter/columnist Dana Milbank's decision to wear 'hunter' garb. The Post's Liz Spayd, apparently handed out some discipline: Spayd said she felt Milbank "crossed the line" on his TV appearance. "What he intended as a playful joke was viewed by many as mocking and unprofessional, and understandably so." Suffice it to say that he has been taken to The Post's version of the woodshed and told not to do that again. xxx
The criticism of the press on their coverage of the Vice-President's hunting accident is much closer to home and office. The Post's Howell stated, "If Post editors insist Milbank is not an opinion columnist, then Milbank ought to drop the funny hats and stay away from comedy shows." One more spanking!
xxx
Former Senator Alan Simpson (R-WY) put it this way.
xxx
Dick Cheney has become the hate symbol from the beginning. He was the hate symbol when he was with Halliburton. He was the hate symbol when he came in and the votes with South Africa and this and that. And then he was the hate symbol of hiding an energy conference. He was the hate symbol of terrorists, hate symbol of torture. Let me tell you, those who don't like him have put a big red tail on his bum, and cloven hooves, and horns on his head. And let me tell you, if anybody thinks -- if this had happened to anybody else in America, it would have been like a sparrow belch in a typhoon. How are we to trust, after a whole week of absolute dribble, and babble, and people, you know, interviewing themselves -- well, what do you think about Dick, oh, you know -- and Jay Leno and Letterman -- I asked them how would you feel if this happened to you.
Let me tell you, the American people are really waiting with sense of glee when something really, really happens in America, and I suppose they'll just have a catatonic stroke and pitch forward on their faces. But let me tell you, you'll never find it if you just follow the Washington media. You'll never know the good. All you get is controversy, crap and confusion.

Watch your backside, the 'Brokeback Media' doesn't get it.

bin Laden Speaks.....Who Cares?

Usama bin Laden promised never to be captured alive and declared the U.S. had resorted to the same "repressive" tactics used by Saddam Hussein, xxx "I have sworn to only live free. Even if I find bitter the taste of death, I don't want to die humiliated or deceived," bin Laden said. xxx "The jihad is continuing with strength, for Allah be all the credit, despite all the barbarity, the repressive steps taken by the American Army and its agents, to the extent that there is no longer any mentionable difference between this criminality and the criminality of Saddam," Bin Laden continued.

xxx
OK, bin Laden talks about the "bitter" taste of death. What happened to all those virgins he promises the suicide bombers? Doesn't Bin Laden get virgins?
xxx
Death with humiliation? bin Laden is on the run so the U.S. military is certainly going to humilate him until his death. So much for that wish. Bin Laden suggests Saddam Hussien is a criminal? What? No mirrors in your cave?
xxx
The Associated Press suggests with the implied criticism of Saddam, bin Laden appeared to be denying assertions by the Bush administration that the former Iraqi leader had ties to Al Qaeda — ties that were given as one rationale for invading Iraq.
xxx
This is the main stream media with one more lame drum beat against the war in Iraq and the Bush Administration. They can't report the story, they find it necessary to fill in the "blanks."

Olympian Skips History Class

Freedom of speech, freedom of speech, freedom of dissent are all part of the American way. However, the Olympics should be free of politics and poor taste, especially by its participants. They represent themselves but wear the colors of the country, therefore, representing that country and its people.
xxx
Who does U.S. figure skater Johnny Weir represent? In an NBC profile of Weir this past week, the flamboyant athlete is shown lying on a couch wearing a red sweatjacket with the decoration of CCCP, the Cyrillic Russian initials of the old USSR. He want on to wear the jacket during a practice session while his coach looked on.
xxx
We have now seen an American Olympic athlete, representing the United States, casually wearing a sweatjacket symbolizing the old Soviet Union.
xxx
The three-time U-S men’s figure skating champion says he got it from Russian pairs skater Tatiana Totmianina as a birthday present. He says it’s just for fun, the same as if someone was wearing a Madonna T-shirt. "I know that a lot of people, especially the more Republican-style people, are very afraid of what I mean to the sport and what I’m going to say, what kind of revolutionary, crazy things are going to come out of my mouth. And good for them. They should be scared," Weir explained.
xxx
I would suggest to Mr. Weir that "scared" may be what he might feel if my 6'4", 240 lb. son, who is entering military service this week, might say to Weir. In addition to patriotism, my son has seriously studied history, something Mr. Weir apparently missed out on. Wearing a relic from the Cold War, looks more like an endorsement of the most brutal, most murderous regime ever to reign on Earth, not fun if you lived in a Gulag or worse.
xxx
Weir and his coach are irresponsible and the statement of the jacket is demeaning to people who suffered at the hands of Lenin, Stalin and the KGB. They lived in terror behind walls, and an "Iron Curtain." The people of CCCP lived at the hands of secret police, many disappeared from their families never to be seen or heard from again.
xxxx
Athletics is sometimes a maturing process, but it hasn't work out that way for Johnny Weir. In between skating practice Weir should catch up on his history!

Moon Bat of The Week Award!

Al Gore
xxx
Former Vice President Al Gore told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S. government committed "terrible abuses" against Arabs after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such treatment. Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions. The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into al-Qaida's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications. "The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake," Gore said during the Jiddah Economic Forum. "The worst thing we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States." Gore told the largely Saudi audience, many of them educated at U.S. universities, that Arabs in the United States had been "indiscriminately rounded up, often on minor charges of overstaying a visa or not having a green card in proper order, and held in conditions that were just unforgivable." "Unfortunately there have been terrible abuses and it's wrong," Gore said. "I do want you to know that it does not represent the desires or wishes or feelings of the majority of the citizens of my country."
xxx
Gore should get a post of responsibility where he can put his diplomatic talents to better use. Maybe Ambassador to Uganda! Possibly a course in determining facts from fiction would be helpful and a prescription drug to prevent delusions.

Mr. Holland Shows Jaws at National Press Club

Actor Richard Dreyfuss told a National Press Club audience in Washington, D.C "there are causes worth fighting for," and one of those is the impeachment of President George W. Bush. "Unless you are willing to accept torture as part of a normal American political lexicon, unless you are willing to accept that leaving the Geneva Convention is fine and dandy, if you accept the expansion of wiretapping as business as usual, the only way to express this now is to embrace the difficult and perhaps embarrassing process of impeachment." Dreyfuss has as much proof of these allegations as Kofi Annan, neither of whom have ever visited Guantanamo Bay. Noting that the country’s “founders, who we revere to check executive abuse with congressional balance,” established the process Dreyfuss said impeachment "is a statement that we refuse to endorse bad behavior." How does one check abuse with something quite unbalanced? A little correction for Mr. Dreyfuss. The Constitution deals with the subject of impeachment and conviction at six places. The scope of the power is set out in Article II, Section 4: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." It seems alleged bad behavior based on conjecture and innuendo are not considered crimes. Dreyfuss said he is not a cynic or a liberal, but is instead a "libo-conservo-middle-of-the-roado, [say what?] and I have been for many years." Hmmm. So put that in your pot and smoke it! "Watch me lose my sense of humor if people accuse me of treason," Dreyfuss said. He went on to mock Fox’s Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. We tend to mock those two also. However, it seems Dreyfuss has already lost his sense of humor. He is not treasonous, simply a left-wing, paranoid, nut case. To restore true American values, the actor called for children to be taught "the tools of debate and dissent," as well as a return to the principle of civility, which he called "the oxygen that democracies require else they become poisoned and die, as this democracy will." We wonder how long Mr. Dreyfuss had his oxygen turned off?
xxx
We can only wonder if Dreyfuss had dinner afterwards with Alex Baldwin, Barbara Streisand, Cindy Sheehan, Howard Dean, Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, Teddy Kennedy and Harry Reid (Mayor of Mustang Ranch) and a host of other moon-bats who make it a habit by demonstrating they are bigger asses than the 4-legged breed.

Senate Benefits Package for Arab Oil Sheiks

Beware of your profits American Oil, the Senate curmudgeon's want to punish you for running a sound business plan. As FDR and his Leninist crew worked hard to punish big business, Liberals (Yes, including Liberal Republicans) want to tax you, punish you and give your shareholder's earnings to foreign entities and dictatorships.
xxx
Politicians will consider bailing out the mis-managed auto industry for UAW votes, they just can't stand the smell of too much business success. Gas prices are high, demand is high all over the world. We're not necessarily "addicted" to oil but it is the means by which we travel, fuel our equipment and in many cases heat our homes. Oil is the fuel of choice. It's all about Capitalism, free markets, supply and demand. Business survives by producing profits, that's the goal. If truly profitable energy alternatives exist someone will find a way to develop the products, market them and turn a profit. This is called ingenuity and entrepreneurship.
xxx
America’s energy companies are already providing a “windfall” of taxes — including corporate income, franchise, payroll, property, severance, and excise taxes. New filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) show that the largest oil and gas companies in America (Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil) are set to pay or remit over $158 billion in worldwide taxes for 2005. according to the Tax Foundation. This tax burden on American “big oil” nearly equals the total economic output of Iran and exceeds total GDP in 150 of the 184 countries ranked by the World Bank.
xxx
Democrats including Olympia Snowe (R-ME) in the U.S. Senate are promoting legislation which contains provisions to restrict full use of foreign tax credits and prohibit the accounting practice where inventory is estimated on a “last in first out” (LIFO) basis for tax purposes. These provisions target U.S. firms and would put them at a significant disadvantage in their competition with large foreign firms — including the state-run oil companies of India and China.
xxx
Further, this legislation works to drive Arab oil production and profits up as Americans pay the taxes on efficient U.S. companies while OPEC countries receive a free pass. These policies do nothing to promote new refineries or new oil drilling in and around North America.
xxx
Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is promoting a 25% higher tax on foreign-produced oil than if it were drilled from the ground by a French, Chinese or Danish firm. The U.S. would still import the oil, but any profits from that oil would flow to foreign, rather than U.S., firms and investors.
xxx
Liberal tax policy will drive a bear market, drive inflation, deflate the markets and return us to Jimmy Carter era gas lines, closed service stations and double-digit interest rates.
xxx
“Where is the politician who has not promised to fight to the death for lower taxes- and who has not proceeded to vote for the very spending projects that make tax cuts impossible?"

Bryant Gumbel Wins Gold Medal for Racism!

Maybe having no class is an understatement. Bryant Gumbel being a racist is more accurate based on his comments about the Winter Olympics and its athletes. Apparantly the Olympics are "too white" for Gumbels racist eyes.
xxx
At the Olympics in South Korea during the 90's it was all about Bryant, holding up everyone to have his suits tailored on the set. As Gumbel has "matured" and moved on to HBO he feels a need to bring attention to himself by making outrageous statements.
xxxxxx
"Finally, tonight, the Winter Games. Count me among those who don’t like them and won’t watch them ... Because they’re so trying, maybe over the next three weeks we should all try too. Like, try not to be incredulous when someone attempts to link these games to those of the ancient Greeks who never heard of skating or skiing. So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention. Try not to point out that something’s not really a sport if a pseudo-athlete waits in what’s called a kiss-and-cry area, while some panel of subjective judges decides who won ... So if only to hasten the arrival of the day they’re done, when we can move on to March Madness — for God’s sake, let the games begin."
xxx
We appreciate freedom of opinion and speech, it's too bad in 2006 Gumbel needs to use the Olympics to show his real color(s).

Aaron Burr, Dick Cheney and Media Arrogance

On the morning of July 11, 1804, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr met on the dueling grounds at Weehawken, New Jersey. Each fired a shot from a .56 caliber dueling pistol. Burr was unscathed; Hamilton fell to the ground mortally wounded. He died the next day.
xxx
"By a gentleman from Philadelphia we learn, that last week a duel took place at New York, between Colonel Aaron Burr, Vice President of the U. States, and General Alexander Hamilton, in which the latter was mortally wounded, and expired in a short time after he was taken from the field. The cause of the duel, or who was the challenger, we did not learn."
xxx
This story ran on page 3 of the July 18, 1804 [Seven days later] edition of the Gettysburg Centinel. Of course communication was slower, there was no blogoshere, newswire, fax machines, email, Blackberry's. However, when men were men and the main stream media was still a bunch of arrogant slobs who wanted the story, forget the facts as though knowledge is their right.
Several days have passed since Vice President Cheney accidentally shot his friend Harry Whittington on a private South Texas ranch. Mr. Cheney has taken full responsibility in a televised interview and decided his friend's health was more important then the ego of NBC's David Gregory who had the following exchange with White House Press Secretary, Scott McClellan.
xxx
"Why was the White House relying on a Texas rancher to get the word of Cheney's hunting accident out over the weekend," asked Gregory, accusing McClellan of "ducking and weaving.'' "David, hold on the cameras aren't on right now,'' McClellan replied. "You can do this later.'' "Don't accuse me of trying to pose to the cameras,'' the newsman said, his voice rising somewhat. "Don't be a jerk to me personally when I'm asking you a serious question.''
"You don't have to yell,'' McClellan said. "I will yell,'' said Gregory, pointing a finger at McCellan at his dais. "If you want to use that podium to try to take shots at me personally, which I don't appreciate, then I will raise my voice, because that's wrong." "Calm down, Dave, calm down,'' said McClellan, remaining calm throughout the exchange. "I'll calm down when I feel like calming down,'' Gregory said. "You answer the question." "I have answered the question,'' said McClellan, who had maintained that the vice president's office was in charge of getting the information out and worked with the ranch owner to do that. "I'm sorry you're getting all riled up about.'' "I am riled up,'' Gregory said, "because you're not answering the question.''
xxx McClellan insisted he understood that reporters deserve an answer. "I think you have legitimate questions to ask,'' the press secretary said. "The vice president's office was the one that took the lead to get this information out. I don't know what else to tell you... That's my answer.''
xxx
At the end of this exchange dueling pistols may have been in order. With McClellan's calm demeanor Gregory would surely have the same outcome as Mr. Hamilton.
xxxxxx
Mort Kondracke of Roll Call, in his mumbling speech, managed to blame the Vice President for not admitting this accident was "his fault." Mr. Cheney stated, "Ultimately I'm the guy who pulled the trigger that fired the round that hit Harry. I'm the guy who pulled the trigger and shot my friend, and that's something I'll never forget."
xxx
This was not good enough for the incoherent Kondracke, he wanted to hear the words, "MY FAULT." Taking full responsibility is not good enough for Kondracke who has trouble speaking while waving his hands uncontrollable. Kondracke went on to claim Cheney failed to follow hunting protocol. Kondracke, no hunter by his own admission, relied on several "Democrat hunters" for his comment. That should clear things up on proper protocol for hunters. No bias there!
xxxxxx
Kelly McBride of the Poynter Institute said Cheney still hadn't adequately explained why it took so long for news of the shooting to reach the public. "The fact that he didn't have press people traveling with him is a pretty lame excuse," McBride said. As for Cheney's explanation that he was more immediately coWhittington'sWhittington's well being and notifying his family: "Dick Cheney wasn't tending to him personally. He wasn't down there tending to this guy, dressing his wounds." So having the press corps on a hunting trip would provide more safety? Showing great concern for someone you accidentally shot is trumped by the press corps need to know? "He's a leader who doesn't like reporters," [imagine that?] Burns said, adding, "I don't know that there's anything about this that reflects badly on his leadership abilities, but I think there's something about this that reflects badly on decision-making, and decision-making is part of leadership."
xxxxxx
In the Aug. 26, 2002, Judge Damon J. 6thth of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals wrote, "Democracies die behind closed doors. The only safeguard on this extraordinary government power isdeputizingc, deputizing the press as the guardians of their liberty. An informed public is the most potent of all restraints on government ... the First Amendment, through a free press, protects the people's right to know that their government acts fairly, lawfully, and accurately."
xxx
However, the public had an entirely different view from the court and main stream media. In the First Amendment Center's State of the First Amendment 2002 survey conducted with the University of Connecticut's Center for Survey Research & Analysis, "The least popular First Amendment right is freedom of the press -- 42% of respondents said the press in America has too much freedom to do what it wants." Moreover, "Roughly half of those surveyed said the American press has been too aggressive in asking government officials for information about the war on terrorism."
xxx
We're sure timely reporting of the Vice Presidents hunting mishap would receive a larger response against the arrogant press corp. The hunting story about warped ego's not the publics right to know.
xxx
The New York Times doesn't see a problem printing classified information under the guise that it's the public right to know. Most sane people would rather stay safe then hand secret information to our enemy. The press doesn't see it that way. The story is important, to hell with safeguarding our homeland. Classified information is just that and anyone divulging said information should face charges of treason.
xxx
Americans do not feel that they have deputized the press as guardians of their liberty. The press has an agenda, it dislikes the Bush administration and jeopardizing their goal of destroying a Presidency is not an option. Using the Cheney hunting incident to attack the "Secret Whitehouse" is their only purpose.
xxx
Hard to believe, but settling differences with a duel had been the custom before the Revolution. In 1804, however, dueling was no longer legal in the state of New York, where both men were political leaders. Burr was indicted for murder, but the charges were later dropped.
Politicians today use debates and the press to settle their differences. Dueling and other violence have never been an intelligent way to solve a problem. In a duel, the loser lost more than just an argument; he lost his life.
xxx
Unfortunately using the television camera and the liberal news media has been the method of choice for delivering viewpoints and unsubstantiated claims with over the top statements. Although dueling is illegal, slandering political opponents is considered suitable. In 1804 calling the President a "liar" or his spokesperson a "jerk" may have presented you more than dueling banjos.

Old Europe Seeks Hamas Ties

The government of Hugo Chavez will receive representatives of Hamas "with pleasure" should they visit Venezuela on a forthcoming tour of South America. Vladimir Putin has announced he will host a meeting with the Palestinian terrorist group/political party next month in Moscow. "We have never considered Hamas a terrorist organization," says the Russian president. The leadership of both these countries seem to be “rubbing” democracies nose into political dung since Hamas was elected in a so-called Democratic election. We should recall the diplomatic quarantine the European Union slapped on Austria in 2000 when elections there put the proto-fascist Freedom Party in government.
xxx
However, Spain and France have endorsed Mr. Putin's invitation to Hamas, and both governments are reported to be working to have Hamas removed from the European list of terrorist organizations. These actions may isolate the Bush Administration and only demonstrates the Euro-Socialist, anti-Semitic views of these countries as well as their approval of terrorism.

The New Hitler Speaks...Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Should Be Careful What He Wishes

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the Palestinians and "other nations" will eventually remove Israel from the region. Addressing a mass demonstration in Tehran - one of many organized throughout Iran to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the Islamic revolution - he once again questioned the Holocaust "fairy tale". xxx "We ask the West to remove what they created sixty years ago and if they do not listen to our recommendations, then the Palestinian nation and other nations will eventually do this for them," Ahmadinejad said in a ceremony marking the 27th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
xxx
"Do the removal of Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations," the ultra-conservative president said. He once again called the Holocaust a "fairy tale" and said Europeans have become hostages of "Zionists" in Israel. He also accused Europeans for not allowing "neutral scholars" to investigate in Europe and make a scientific report on "the truth about the fairy tale of Holocaust."
xxx
"How comes that insulting the prophet of Muslims worldwide is justified within the framework of press freedom, but investigating about the fairy tale Holocaust is not?" Ahmadinejad said.
xxx
"The real Holocaust is what is happening in Palestine where the Zionists avail themselves of the fairy tale of Holocaust as blackmail and justification for killing children and women and making innocent people homeless," Ahmadinejad said.
xxx
The Iranian president said that the results of the parliamentary elections in Palestine and the victory of the Hamas group "clearly showed what the people really want."
xxx
"You (the West) want democracy but do not respect the outcome," Ahmadinejad said, referring to the election results in Iraq and Palestine. "It seems that you (the West) only want that form of democracy whose results just repeat your standpoints and only follow your policies," he said.
xxx
Jane's Defence reports Iran launched a mass production line for a new man-portable low- to very-low-altitude surface-to-air missile called the Mithaq-2 on 6 February.
xxx
The shoulder-launched Mithaq-2, believed to be a short-range passive infra-red missile developed by the Iranian Defence Ministry's Shahid Kazemi Industrial Complex in Tehran, is an advanced version of the indigenously developed Mithaq-1 air-defence system.
xxx
The Iranian army, which operates older Soviet-made SA-7 Strela 2M and SA-14 Strela 3 man-portable air-defence systems, has been seeking to boost its air-defence capabilities as the dispute regarding the nuclear programme escalates. In anticipation of a potential airstrike on its nuclear facilities, the Iranians acquired 29 Russian Tor-M1 (SA-15 Guantlet) self-propelled surface-to-air missile systems in December 2005.
xxx
German Chancellor Angela spoke at the Wehrkunde Conference in Munich. Merkel asserted that Iran must be prevented from developing a nuclear weapon. When Abbas Araghchi, Iran's deputy foreign minister, spoke up from the floor denying such intentions, she replied tartly that she hadn't heard him deny the threat by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to wipe Israel off the map. "I assume a president speaks for his country," she remarked acidly. U.S. Defense Secretary Donald. Rumsfeld sounded the same theme, adding that the "Iranian regime is today the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism." The recently released U.S. Quadrennial Defense Review states, When U.S. interests are protected, America and its friends prosper from peace and freedom. When U.S. interests are challenged, the Nation must possess the strength and resolve to provide for their defense. This document demonstrates the great challenges in the world to preserve peace and democracy.
xxx
The U.K.'s Sunday Telegraph reported strategists at the Pentagon are drawing up plans for devastating bombing raids backed by submarine-launched ballistic missile attacks against Iran's nuclear sites as a "last resort" to block Teheran's efforts to develop an atomic bomb. Central Command and Strategic Command planners are identifying targets, assessing weapon-loads and working on logistics for an operation.
xxx
Mr. Rumsfeld has conducted plans to make the U.S. military leaner and meaner and mobile enough to put out fires anywhere on the planet. Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the radical Mullahs should take note.
